Frequently Asked Questions

What do I wear?  You are welcome to come as you are.  Some wear traditional Sunday clothes; others choose casual attire.

Do you have childcare?  Absolutely.  A safe, clean, bright nursery is provided for infants and toddlers 2 and under.

What about children’s church?  We have a children's church for ages 3 to 6 and a Junior's church for children in grades 1 to 3.  The ladies of the church rotate in providing an interesting program.

What kind of music is used?  Exciting heartfelt music is used that moves the thoughts, emotions, desires, and will to praise God for Himself, His actions, and His blessings.

What type of sermons will I hear?  Messages are delivered that explain the meaning of the Bible in a way that makes God’s Word understandable and applicable to daily living.

What types of people attend the church?  People come from diverse economical, educational, occupational, religious, and social backgrounds.

Where should I sit in the sanctuary?  Feel free to sit where you feel comfortable or ask an usher for assistance.  We are a friendly church and want your time at Shenandoah to be pleasant and fruitful.

I'm hearing impaired.  Will I be able to hear the services?  Hearing assistance devices are provided for those who need them.  If you need one, please see an usher.

Will I be embarrassed by being recognized as a guest?  No.  We will not ask you to raise your hand or stand.  On the back of each pew, guest cards are provided.  If you choose, you may fill one out and drop it in the offering plate.

Will I feel pressured to give an offering?  No.  Offering plates are passed, but no salesman’s pitch is used by the pastor.  Giving is between a person and God.

What is the condition of the facilities?  First-Class.  A new sanctuary was added in 2002 and the facilities are kept in excellent condition.

Will I experience entertainment or worship?  Worship.  Each aspect of the service is designed for focus on the Lord Jesus Christ so that each person can know Him.

I would like to make a donation to the church.  How can I give?  You can give by placing the donation in the offering plate during any church service.  Giving envelopes are available on the back of each pew and boxes of giving envelopes are in the vestibule.  Online E-giving is also available if you prefer to give online.  The E-Giving link in on the menu to the left.

Should I come?  Yes.  We love people, all people.
